SPORTS

Sports at Newton College. As a department, we aim to promote a lifelong love of sports. This starts in Nursery 1 with psychomotor development from a P.E. specialist, culminating in IB Diploma Sports, Exercise and Health Sciences, which is aimed at students who wish to work in a sports science environment.

Throughout primary and secondary education, our students experience competition both internally and externally as they compete against other international schools on a regular basis. Our students often go on trips that encourage professional sports development, such as the International European Masters Golf Tour in Benidorm with a golf clinic for our students, a morning studying a professional football training session with a Q&A section for our sports science students, and orienteering trips in the sand dunes. A wide variety of sports are taught in our school, such as rugby and golf. We are pioneers in golf, and offer regular coaching and co-teaching from the Golf Federation. Our sporting achievement is recognised through our Honours Board, which is proudly on display as you enter the gym, in front of our trophy display cabinet.
